Payment "pending" or "processing": what to do
After starting the payment, it is normal for the screen to show a waiting state before confirmation. These states differ by payment method, and they all mean the same thing: the payment has not been confirmed yet, but it is being tracked.
Card: “processing”
When you pay with a card, a screen appears with a spinning icon, the title “please wait…”, and the message “We are processing your order. Do not close this screen.”.
At this step, the payment goes through the transaction security check and your bank’s authorization. It usually takes a few seconds. Do not close the page while “please wait…” is visible — when it finishes, the screen advances on its own to approval or decline.
PIX and Boleto: “awaiting payment”
For PIX and boleto, the screen shows the “Payment Status” block with “Pending Payment” (in orange). This means the code has already been generated, but the payment has not landed yet:
- with PIX, confirmation is usually almost immediate after you pay;
- with boleto, clearing can take up to a few business days.
Next to the status, “Checking again in X seconds” appears with a progress bar: the screen checks the status on its own, repeatedly.
How long until the page “gives up”
When the payment stays pending for a long time (by default, about 5 minutes without confirmation), the page may redirect you automatically — back to the checkout or to a page defined by the producer. This does not cancel a payment you have already made: it is just the screen moving on. If the payment clears later, it is still confirmed and you receive the notice by email.
Why it never shows “approved” too early
The checkout only shows the purchase as approved after the payment is actually confirmed. It never anticipates an approval to “speed things up”. This protects you: while it is “pending” or “processing”, the result is not final yet — it is worth waiting for the real confirmation.
